From 2000 - 2008, The Instrumental Women Project™ produced the longest running, annual showcase featuring an all-female line-up of master instrumentalists.
The inaugural 2000 "Women In Jazz" concert held at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood was sold out and was included in the L.A. Times year-end list of "Best Live Jazz Performances."
Rebranded as the IWP Lady Jazz™ Concert Series in 2001, this production was lauded with the L.A. Times "Best Bets" designation for "the" recommended weekend jazz entertainment venue during three of its first five years.
When the final note was played to close the 9th Annual IWP Lady Jazz Concert at the Ford Amphitheatre on August 31, 2008, no one expected the hiatus … WHAT HAPPENED?
