Karen Briggs - was born into a musical family in Manhattan, New York. Her natural acumen on the violin began to evolve with her first lessons at the age of twelve. Since then, Karen has indulged herself as a violinist of gospel, jazz, classical, pop and Latin musical idioms. Ms. Briggs has performed internationally as a featured soloist in concerts and venues ranging from the Harlem’s Apollo Theater, to the Agra India’s, Taj Mahal. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 1994 with piano accompanist, David Gruisin. She also makes a brief appearance in “Music From the Heart”, starring Meryl Streep, and is acknowledged as one of the world’s most accomplished violinists during the concert performance scene at Carnegie Hall. She has also recorded and performed with a number of artists, including Diana Ross and Arif Mardin, Stanley Clarke, The Wu Tang Clan, En Vogue and Juan Sebastian. Ms. Briggs has been introduced to millions of fans worldwide, as a result of her performance on the television broadcast of “Yanni: Live at the Acropolis.” She has been one of the most featured performers with Yanni on a number of successful tours and video releases.
