Karen Hammack is a highly respected Los Angeles based pianist. She has performed with established jazz artists such as Joe Labarbera, Eric Marienthal, Larry Koonse, Stephanie Haynes and Scott Colley, to name a few. And what she brings to the jazz are the elements of classic American roots-soul and pop that she also loves. She has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia with various popular recording artists such as Tim Weisberg, Niki Harris, Perla Batalla and Melissa Manchester. She has recorded and collaborated with a varied collection of artists like Kate McGarry, Julie Christensen, The Missils of October and Greg Leisz. Her CD Lonesome Tree shows Karen's diversity and reputation as a fine soulful player and composer. Her credits alto include a debut CD entitled "Above the Clouds: on Fahrenheit Records. She is also active in jazz education for youth, performing at schools throughout the L.A. area with Bobby Rodriguez' Jazz Adventure Series.
