Dr. Cheryl L. Keyes, Associate Professor and Ethnomusicologist at UCLA and La Quetta M. Shamblee, Founder and Executive Director of The Instrumental Women® Project (IWP), have been awarded a $61,000 grant from UCLA’s Center for Community Partnerships (CCP).

What is a UCLA CCP Grant?

The CCP grant issued a Request for Proposals to the community to support community-campus partnerships of engage scholarship.  This program funds selected projects or research partnerships in Los Angeles that are carried out by non-profit community partner organizations along with their UCLA faculty and/or professional staff member partner.  A maximum of $75,000 was available for a two year project.  Dr. Keyes and Ms. Shamblee were successful in securing a grant under the arts and cultural affairs category, one of three focus areas for the 2007-2008 CCP grant.
