Alto Saxophonist Keschia Potter began her journey into the world of music at the age of 7 while learning to play piano. Formally trained in classical music, she switched instruments at age 14 and learned to play saxophone while attending Washington High School. Ms. Potter furthered her musical studies at UCLA where she had the opportunity to study music with such notables as Kenny Burrell, Harold Land, Gerald Wilson and George Bohanon. Keschia has performed at the Jovenes Jazz Festival and the 21st International Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana, Cuba. She has also performed with Lionel Hampton’s Band and has had the opportunity to perform at the 2003 Playboy Jazz Festival in Bill Cosby’s band. Recently, Keschia earned her masters degree at UCLA and is currently teaching part-time at Compton Community College.  She continues to perform with her group “The Keschia Potter Quartet” around the Los Angeles area.
